When I first opened the case, I could tell these were the glasses I was looking for. The brown lenses and tortoiseshell frames looked stylish, and I was impressed by the color balance and contrast of the bronze lenses. Excellent, crisp optics that work well on sunny and cloudy days, though perhaps less well in low light conditions. Great for driving, cycling and walking around. Nice little integrated rubber pads on temples and nose keep the glasses in place. The lenses are a bit larger than those on the Makaha, which is virtually identical to the Hookipa. If you have a smallish face, you might prefer the Makaha. Also, these glasses are incredibly lightweight and sit close enough to your face that it protects the eyes against the wind. The small magnifiers on the bottom are not distracting in everyday use, but are very convenient for us geezers when we want to read something. I love 'em!

This was my first pair of professional glasses purchased for stream fly fishing and my necessary magnification. The clarity and amber color make it easy to spot wary trout. The 2.5 magnifiers allow me to tie on the smallest flies with short arms. Fish On!
